North coast beach Menorca, a natural paradise in the Mediterranean,

One such example of local craftwork is the production of typical Menorcan footwear. The "Avarca" as it is called in Menorcan, or "Abarca" in Spanish.

Above all, the "Avarca" is hard-wearing, comfortable and economical. For many years, it was the footwear of choice for farmers and land workers but today they are owned by many people around the world who appreciate their comfort, quality and value for money.

Mahon harbourMade from real leather and rubber soles, previously they were only available in 2 colours - beige and blue. Nowadays there is an abundent range of colours as well as modern and innovative decorative designs.

When any product is in great demand, it is easy to find imitators; however, only the "Avarca" made in Menorca can be considered authentic. The manufacturers (usually small family businesses) follow a traditional process passed down through generations.
